The Heaven-Rescued Land

A verse from: "The Star-Spangled Banner"
AND
A verse from "America" ("My Country 'tis of thee")

Read about "The Heaven-Rescued Land"... in the fourth stanza of the
"Star Spangled Banner". Remember it.... memorize it !

And, remember this, from God's Bible:
Romans 8: 31 (NRSV) What then are we to say about these things?
If God is for us... who is against us?

From: The Star-Spangled Banner
The National Anthem of the United States of America
( By Francis Scott Key )

The FOURTH stanza -- (MEMORIZE this)

O thus be it ever, when free men shall stand
Between their lov'd homes, and the war's desolation;
Blest with victory and peace, may this heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just;
And this be our motto -- "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST".
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free.... and home of the brave.

NOTE HERE, also, the 4th stanza of "AMERICA" ("My country 'tis of thee").... about God and America. Why do some anti-Americans, living in our beautiful United States, keep saying that we real-Americans should abandon our references to God, and religion.... in public places?
In our two marvelous "National Anthems", both quoted in this document, how much more "public" can our country's devotion to GOD be.... and our dependence on Him.... than is demonstrated and clearly-stated in these poetic and majestic references to our Creator God.
Thank you, Almighty God, for loving and guiding and protecting our splendid land.... even though so many of us "Americans" deny your existence, and your loving care of our precious nation.

The FOURTH stanza of "AMERICA"

Our fathers' GOD -- author of liberty --
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright,
With freedon's Holy Light.
Protect us, by Thy might;
Great GOD.... our KING.

Remember, also, two of our other great national "anthems", which express the feelings and opinions of real "Americans". I will quote (here) from these two magnificent songs, soon.... but for now, just recall and recite the splendid words of "God Bless America".... and "America the Beautiful". (Thank you, Almighty God, for letting us Americans have these profound and marvelous expressions of our belief in you, and our devotion to you.)

The Star-Spangled Banner
ALL four stanzas
1.
O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night, that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?

2.
On the shore dimly seen, thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!

3.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

4
O thus be it ever when free men shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may this heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "IN GOD IS OUR TRUST!"
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave...
O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave!
